Meet Our Team Leader Kahea Takihara

July 16, 2025

We have been able to enhance the lives of adults with disabilities with the help of the AbilityOne Program. This important work cannot be accomplished without our team leaders. Meet our Custodial Supervisor, Kahea Takihara. Her team performs custodial and janitorial duties at central Maui parks and private facilities. Kahea enjoys working with her team and the positive attitudes and willingness they bring to the field. Her team has become Ohana!

Employment is more than just a paycheck—it’s a pathway to independence, self-worth, and purpose. For people with disabilities, having a job can be truly life-changing.

We are a community-based vocational rehabilitation program providing job training and employment opportunities for adults with disabilities. Not only are we one of the longest-running nonprofit organizations on Maui, but we are also the largest employer of individuals with disabilities.
